While the X5 has a plastic build, Honor has made an effort to make the smartphone visually appealing. Here, the phone comes with a leather-texture design on the back which helps for a comfortable grip and keeps fingerprints and smudges at bay. It isn’t that bulky or thick either measuring 192 grams and 8.92 mm, respectively.
The phone is available in three color options: Sunrise Orange, Ocean Blue, and Midnight Black. But the latter two are only available in Nepal, as of now.
On the front, you get a 6.5-inch TFT LCD display with HD resolution. As common with budget smartphones, you don’t get to see a higher refresh/touch sampling rate here. And it also has a water-drop notch on the front.
Under the hood, this phone is powered by a MediaTek G25 chipset. This is an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A53 (@2.0GHz) and four Cortex-A53 (@1.5GHz) cores and is built on 12nm fabrication technology. There is a decent IMG GE8320 GPU for graphics.
The chipset comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. You can, however, expand storage with an SD card. Honor has pre-installed Android 12 Go-Edition on this phone.
Others
The Honor X5 has a single rear camera with an 8 MP, f/2.0 sensor. For selfies, there is a 5 MP, f/2.2 camera on the front. Both cameras can shoot videos at up to 1080p@30fps.
Moreover, the smartphone is fueled by a 5000mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, it supports a single 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band, and Bluetooth 5.1. For security, you can use face unlock, as there’s no fingerprint sensor.
